Munich: Tollwood festival

What is the Tollwood festival??

The Tollwood festival in Munich is happening twice a year in summer and in winter. It offers free concerts, a lot of food and little stands wit jewelry, clothes and much more. The festival has a charming hipster vibe, as you walk through the little aisles you'll see little shops selling hipster and colourful fairly traded clothing and you will notice that every food stand is completely organic.

History of the festival

The festival in 2003 decided it wants to be on the forefront of making Munich a greener city and required all food sold to be made exclusively with organic and mostly fairly traded ingredients. If you are now concerned about the prices, don't worry. They are barely more, and sometimes even the same price, as food on festivals with non-organic food. But the best thing about this festival is that you can go around, buy things and eat a lot of great food without having to feel a bit guilty since everything is sustainable, fairly traded and organic.

Best thing we had there (Miss it so much)

One of the best things we had there was the "Jamaica" crepe which was filled with organic, fairly traded hazelnut-chocolate cream and organic, fairly traded bananas. It was simply the best crepe ever and we still felt like we were helping the planet while indulging in this delicious smooth chocolaty crepe. So if you want to visit a festival/ fair and have a great time while helping the planet look no further!

Tips on Trevi Fountain

The Trevi Fountain is an extremely popular tourist attraction. Throughout the day it will almost always be packed, even late at night. There's probably never a time when it would be completely empty. Recently renovated by the owner of Fendi, the Trevi Fountain is probably the most grand fountain I've seen in the entire Rome/life.

Me and Alex decided to go to the Trevi Fountain at around 2-3am, waiting for a somewhat-nearly empty Trevi Fountain. (Though still a decent amount of people were there)

Bonus tip: You will meet random sellers "giving you roses" saying they are free and well they are not. Be nice but be cautious too :) Others are selling selfie sticks, polaroid pictures and more.

Good and affordable Vegetarian Food in Vienna

A few Affordable and Good vegetarian food in Vienna (Organic for some)

Both me and Alex are vegetarians, and travelling with Alex good food is a must must. (He is a monster-eater and extremely picky).

In no particular order I'll start:

1. I love veggie burger

For burger lovers :P All dips and patties are produced in a small, organic manufactory and 100% organic! Menu below! And we tried the Fire Burger and it was great, but surprisingly spicier than we thought it would be which caught us off guard! The fries are shaped like potato chips, thin and somewhat curled up. I really loved the fries, probably one of the best I've had. Furthermore, they have the option of adding an extra buck for an upgrade to sweet potato fries.

2. L'osteria (For an extremely filling meal)

HUGE Pizzas (No joke!), larger than normal pizzas, such that it couldn't fit the plate (Probably intentional to emphasise on their pizzas being bigger than normal). There are vegetarian and non-vegetarian options though. Alex tried one of the pizza with gorgonzola cheese, the cheese makes the entire pizza extremely filling, would be good to share half each with a friend for another kind of pizza! I had the Eggplant pizza and it was good good amount of huge eggplant. Overall, it was extremely worth the price!

3. Vegetasia

Vegetasia has really good Asian cuisines, noodles, dumplings, spring roll, rice, and much more. Coming from an Asian, I would say it tastes really authentic and somewhat nostalgic.

Best time to go: Lunch buffet Tuesday to Sunday 11:30-15:00! Worth it. For a mere 12,50 € per person, you get to eat whatever you want. However, it is required to get at least one

drink per person in this place. I recommed trying some of their teas.

Tongues operates a waste-not, want-not policy that sees unsold organic veg and produce cooked up into wholesome lunches, sold at remarkably low prices. Soup is €2.40, mains a mere €3.90. They’re often sold out later in the afternoon.

Rome: All roads lead to rome (Punk/Emo Fashion)

Streets of Rome

The streets and pavements in Rome are really unique. They have been there for centuries without much changes. Walking on these roads is a trip back in history. One can imagine walking through ancient Rome, by imagining what all the ruins on the sides of the streets would have looked like hundreds of years ago.

Roman Forum in the dark

After a day of visiting the Colossum, Roman Forum, Palentine Hill in the morning to late afternoon (as it closes at around 6pm). Think there is nothing else to see there at night? Nopeee! Visit it at night!

The area near the Colossum metro station, at the Roman Forum, lights up beautifully at night.

Vienna: How to get to Danube River

Danube River in Vienna (Donau, Wien)

How to get to Danube River (Beaches) in Vienna

A beautiful river close to the city centre, take the U1 to Donauinsel and you would arrive at around start of the river. As you continue walking on the lane furthest away from an iconic looking church (heiliger franz von assisi/jubiläumskirche). As you continue walking and get lazy, there's a shop nearby that rents bikes/hoverboards (surprised!)/ Long boards/ Skateboards and more! Most parts of the river banks are stones. You can swim, picnic, cycle, jog, tan, or just chill around there!

YES, you can swim! Best in summer, when it's sunny, a swim is amazing.

Or to U1 to Alte Donau, where there are more beach clubs areas nearer to the middle.

Or for people who wants an even tan, wanna free yourself from the constraints of a swimsuit, fret not! There's a nudist beach just around, near the "18km" mark you would see on the map boards along the river / you could take the U1 to Kaisermühlen, then bus 90a, 91a or 92a to Schüttauplatz.

It is definitely a wonderful place for a swim when the weather is hot! There's ducks, really pretty swans swimming around too in the waters where you can swim. If you're more adventurous, there's an area where you can walk closer into the river and jump into the waters!!! Had a failed attempt at jumping ^.^
